Is it just me or does it feel like forever since you've watched a funny college movie about drunken antics? "Project X" was definitely for the college prep crowd and "The Hangover" was obviously a little more late-20s in appeal. Neither were actual college movies in the vain of "Road Trip" or "Van Wilder." Enter the trailer for Relativity Media's "21 and Over," a feature-length buddy comedy about a surprise 21st birthday party. Think "Superbad" meets "The Hangover," with a little bit of "Old School" mixed in for the hell of it. Staring Justin Chon of "Twlight" fame, the trailer shows booze-induced puking, beer pong, sorority girls, and a plot loosely based around getting Chon blackout drunk and then dealing with the consequences of his overbearing father. The script is by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the same guys behind "The Hangover" and "The Change-Up."
But seriously, it's nice to see a new addition to the college party movie genre. Hopefully they write in an absurd butt-chugging scene. Will it actually be funny? Who knows. Probably not. Hits theaters on March 1, 2013.
