‘Walking Dead’ Comic-Con trailer shows life sucks

The Walking Dead released a 4+ minute trailer for Season 4 at Comic-Con this weekend, and it looks like zombies are back to being the biggest threat to Rick and his merry band of survivors.

There is a living, breathing person who’s silently launching an attack on the gang, but the onslaught of walkers appears to have increased this year. That’s a welcome relief for those who grew tired of the constant human v. human battle of the last season. The Governor is a great character, and he may well be the one behind the attacks, but it’s nice to see the evolution of zombies. They’re more instinctual, pretty good at knocking down fences, and about to cause some real problems for the former Ricktatorship.

It’s good to see that people are finally starting to understand that age means nothing in the new world. The kids can and must fight, which is why they get to go to machete school! Knives for everyone! They’ll need them with the pending deaths withing the group. There are now a handful of black key players, which means someone has to die. Bob Stookey, the guy who really wants to pull his weight, is either secretly the bad guy or Tyreese is about to get killed. That’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

The Walking Dead premiers Oct. 13 at 9 p.m.

Disclaimer: I haven’t read the comics, so everything is speculation.
