Someone at AMC must have been super excited watching The Ropers on a loop this summer because the network has greenlit another spinoff, this time based on The Walking Dead.
Coming on the heels of the last week’s announcement that the network would create a new show based on Breaking Bad character Saul Goodman, AMC announced plans for a new iteration of Walking Dead for 2015.
According to reports, the new show will serve as a companion series to the current world built around Rick Grimes and crew, entering its fourth season in October.
Series/comic creator Robert Kirkman said in a statement, “After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe.”
Here’s hoping that the show entirely takes place on Herschel’s now-abandoned farm and features adventures around trying to find new bumper crops when all of the local nurseries have deteriorated thanks to the zombpocalypse. Nothing gets my heart racing quite like some hot agricultural action.
