Last Comic Standing 2014 recap — top 28 contestants announced

The judges have whittled down the one hundred original contestants to the Last Comic Standing 2014 top 28.

Last night on Last Comic Standing, seven more comics moved onto the semifinals. It was the fourth and final episode of the invitational round of Last Comic Standing 2014. In the coming weeks, the format of the show will change.

Moving on in tonight’s episode into the Last Comic Standing 2014 top 28 were Karlous Miller, Deanne Smith, Nikki Carr, Tommy Ryman, Yamaneika Saunders, Mike Gaffney and Monroe Martin. They join the other contestants to round out the Last Comic Standing 2014 top 28.

Karlous Miller

Karlous had first television appearance was on Robert Townsend’s Partners in Crime-The New Generation. Since then he has appeared on The Monique Show, BET’s Hell Date season two, MTV’s Yo Momma and was a semi-finalist on Bill Bellamy’s Who Got Jokes.

DeAnne Smith

DeAnne Smith, a three-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee (2011, 2012, 2013) has performed all over the world, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Iceland Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs Montreal and Chicago to name a few.

Nikki Carr

Nikki Carr is one strong raising comedienne.  In just a short time, Nikki Carr has appeared on both BET’s Comic View and It’s Showtime at the Apollo.

Tommy Ryman

Ryman was invited to perform in the prestigious Great American Comedy Festival at the Johnny Carson Theater, and was featured as one of the Twin Cities’ Funniest People by Metro Magazine.

Yamaneika Saunders

Yamaneika’s unorthodox brand of humor has enlightened and entertained audiences from Los Angeles to New York. A native of Baltimore Maryland, Yamaneika comedic range goes far beyond the typical “female” humor.

Mike Gaffney

Mike is also a favorite in comedy clubs in and around NYC.

Monroe Martin

Monroe Martin is a colorful and imaginative comedian with a lifetime of hard knock experiences that have been spun into side-splitting jokes and stories.

Alingon Mitra

Alingon Mitra is the reigning 2013 Funniest Comic in New England Contest Grand Champion. A Harvard grad who started his comedy career in Worcester, Massachusetts and topped 250 entries into this year’s competition with his funny, offbeat, cerebral and self-deprecating stand-up.

Rocky LaPorte

A former Chicago truck driver and dock worker, Rocky has accumulated a slew of performances throughout his career, including being a featured comic on Showtime‘s The Godfathers of Comedy, a special starring five of America’s most hilarious Italian-American comics.

DC Benny

DC Benny is a regular performer at The Comic Strip, The Comedy Cellar, The Nuyorican, The Boston Comedy club, and has opened for Bernie Mac, Margaret Cho, Jeff Foxworthy, and The Fugees.

Emily Galati

In 2013, Emily was chosen to represent Chicago in the “Best of the Midwest” Competition at Gilda’s LaughFest.  She has also been a semi-finalist in NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity and finalist in the Bob and Tom Comedy Contest.

Zainab Johnson

An actress/comedian, Zainab Johnson has appeared on a number of TV shows, including Private PracticeHell DateUn-Natural Selection and television movies such as 1000 Ways to Lie.

Tracey Allison

Joe Machi

In 2010, Machi won the NY Underground Comedy Festival Emerging Comic’s Contest. That same year, he was a finalist in the New York Comedy Festival’s NY Funniest Person Competition.

Rod Man

Rod has become an award-winning, quintessential entertainer. He has graced the stage at Caesar’s Palace, The Gibson Amphitheater, and The Apollo Theater. He is currently the host of his own YouTube shows — Time Out with Rod Man and That Good Funny.

Dave Landau

Dave Landau has appeared on Comedy Central’s Live At Gotham and he’s a regular on the nationally-syndicated Bob & Tom radio show. and was honored as one of the top 21 club comics of today at HBO’s Las Vegas Comedy Festival.

Aida Rodriguez

Aida is an actress, screenwriter and comedian and the host of Hot Topics with Judge Joe Brown. She’s also appeared on Nickelodeon’s Mom’s Night Out, Parental Discretion and NuVo TV’s Stand Up and Deliver.

Dana Eagle

A powerhouse out of the gate, Dana began her career highlighting the plight of the nerd landing her spots on Comedy central, the prestigious HBO Comedy Arts Festival, and Showtime.

Erin Jackson

Since first making a name for herself at colleges and east coast comedy clubs, Erin’s warm, conversational style and relatable humor have helped to propel her onto the national stage. Erin Jackson has performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham.

Mike Vecchione

Mike Vecchione has appeared on Comedy Centrals Live at Gotham, Comedy Centrals Fresh Face Debates, and Russell Simmons Presents: Stand Up at the El Rey Theatre. Mike also had a guest appearance on the IFC hit show Z Rock.

Jasper Redd

Redd has appeared on Last Call with Carson Daly, Lopez Tonight, Def Comedy Jam, Tosh.0, Jordan, Jesse, Go! and in the movie National Lampoon’s Totally Baked: A Potumentary.

Tyree Elaine

Born in Los Angeles, Tyree has performed in some of the hottest comedy clubs from Hollywood to Long Beach and everywhere inbetween. You can also find her on TV One’s Who’s Got Jokes Season 4

Lachlan Patterson

Lachlan was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia and now splits his time between there and Los Angeles. He performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival in 2006 and made his American television debut on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham.

Jimmy Shubert

Jimmy Shubert has built an impressive resume as an actor, both in film and on television. As a comedian, he is recognized as one of the most successful comedians working today, headling comedy clubs, casinos and theaters across the country.
