Fox News anchor drops amazingly stupid ‘Breaking Bad’ tweet

AMC

You have to be pretty freaking dumb to think that this is an OK thing to do. So local news programs aren’t really known for being classy or intelligent, but Joyce Evans of Philadelphia’s FOX 29 pushed the envelope Sunday night with a particularly awful tweet. Here it is:

“”

Tonite at Ten! Remember that TV show that got record-breaking ratings? Well now people are dead for real! Using the season finale of Breaking Bad as a tenuous connection with a real-life multiple shooting (no meth or remote-controlled machine guns were involved) was a pretty trashy thing to do, but when Twitter started calling her out on it, Joyce doubled down with a particularly idiotic defense.

“”

Needless to say, that didn’t really keep the wolves from the door, and Twitter users immediately started parodying her with some takes on her “tie a real life tragedy in with a popular TV show” formula, to wit:

The thing is, this isn’t even the first time Joyce Evans has gone nanners on Twitter. Dig these earlier – and equally weird – tweets:

Oh, and she also likes to drop the F word on live TV.

I just… this is journalism, everybody. Take a bow, America. You earned it. As of press time, Joyce Evans is still employed by Fox 29.
