Although MTV's music video revolution peaked at least a decade ago at the height of "TRL" mania, the cable network continues to dominate and influence pop-culture with its original programming. Starting with "The Real World: New York" in 1992, the producers at MTV have managed to transform reality television into a science, all the while effectively killing off music videos on cable television.
