Taylor Swift Maybe Wrote A Diss Track About Katy Perry And Now Katy Perry Is Throwing Shade On Twitter

Yesterday Rolling Stone published an lengthy cover story interview with Taylor Swift, which features writer Josh Eells chillin’ in Taylor Swift’s Tribeca apartment, talking about her new album 1989. Hey Rolling Stone! BroBible did it first (and pizza was involved). *Shade thrown*

One of the big takeaways of Taylor Swift’s feature is that a song on her upcoming album is called “Bad Blood.” It apparently references some straight up SHADE between Swift and another pop diva, who Swift is smart enough to not directly name:

Swift’s focus on sisterhood cuts both ways, because when another woman crosses her, she’s equally fierce about hitting back. The angriest song on 1989 is called “Bad Blood,” and it’s about another female artist Swift declines to name. “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” she says. “She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'” Then last year, the other star crossed a line. “She did something so horrible,” Swift says. “I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

The Internet is not stupid, though, and speculation began almost immediately about who the female artist in question might be. Swift’s batshit crazy superfans hunkered down into their war rooms for some intense Internet sleuthing. They were able to narrow the female pop star in question to Katy Perry, who allegedly poached some of Taylor Swift’s dancers for her own Prismatic tour. There’s also a story about a musician who worked for Taylor before being hired by Katy Perry, so maybe there’s a history of poaching talent between the two.

Anyway, this caused the tweens who actually give a shit about this type of stuff to lose their minds. Via Idolator:

“”

“”This was all speculation until Katy Perry spoke up, throwing some serious sass and shade at Taylor Swift.

OH, SNAP…. DID KATY PERRY JUST MAKE A MEAN GIRLS REFERENCE? YES SHE DID!

So, in the pop world, is Taylor Swift considered a Regina George? That doesn’t surprise me at all. I can totally see her having a shifty side.

It seems like the beef war is officially on. I think the Internet will explode if this ends in a cafeteria cat fight. I’m on whoever’s side Rihanna is on.

Meanwhile, I’ll just be sitting back here like…
