The Internet is a weird, sometimes awful place where questionable human behavior is exhibited every second of every day. Last night, a man posting on the Be The Rave Facebook page kicked the proverbial beehive to music festival fans and dog owners everywhere. A desperate raver named Gene Hilton said he was willing to resort to sell his one-year-old Siberian Husky puppy for two tickets to this weekend’s Electric Forest in Rothbury, Michigan. When a screencap of the message was tweeted out by Pacha NYC’s @JaySlivs, music fans lost it that someone was willing to do such a heartless act for concert tickets:

Could you fathom someone willing to do that? Literally sell their dog because they want to go to a music festival? Absolutely unconscionable. This caused Twitter to go into a shit-storm:
@JaySlivs how can you just give up a friend and family member like that? Unreal.

@JaySlivs the dog is better off almost anywhere than with those assholes. I hope they got their tix & the husky is now with a loving fam.

But fortunately, it’s just a troll…
Update: It’s apparently a troll. Probably the least funny, and tasteless troll I’ve ever seen.

PSHEW. I think what Gene was trying to make fun of here was the silly extent to which ravers say they will go for music festivals. But that backfired big time when he brought man’s best friend into his shenanigans, because even EDM fans have souls.
UPDATE 9:10 PM: Geris Hilton — The troll who posted the original message on Facebook — sent us screenshots of the hate messages he received afterwards. They’re pretty intense:
