Two Chill Bros In Chicago Open A Pizza Place Named After A Dave Matthews Band Song

Next to beer, lacrosse, and Sperry boat shoes, is there anything Bros love more than pizza and Dave Matthews? No. No there is not. Those two things are colliding in a new Chicago pizza joint called The Warehouse Bar & Pizzeria in Lincoln Park. Tagline for the restaurant just writes itself to DMB fans: “How I love to stay here.” The two owners of the pizza place, Carmelo Scalzo and Augie Femminella, are both huge Dave Matthews band fans, hence naming it after the classic DMB jam “Warehouse,” as they explained to DNA Info:

“We’re both really big Dave Matthews fans,” said Scalzo. “We bought the [website] URL seven or eight years knowing we’d open up this bar.”

Not gonna lie, their food sounds like it was poured from the hands of angels. DNA Info:

Food-wise, patrons can expect a range of specialty pizzas, including one with white cheddar mac and cheese, button and Portobello mushrooms, meatballs and truffle oil (The Truffle Mac) and another with crispy pancetta, caramelized onions, parmesan cream sauce, shaved egg and parmesan (The Carbonara).

There are also sandwiches, including a few different takes on grilled cheese, salads and appetizers on the menu. The drink menu offers craft beer, wine on tap and cocktails. For dessert, patrons can choose from Nutella pizza and fluffer nutter.

Bartender, please… One more drink.

Not gonna lie, I’d DESTROY this BBQ Chicken pizza.

In fact, all their food looks BOMB.

Never mind for a second that Chicago’s the city where Dave Matthews once dumped poo all over people’s heads. This place sounds awesome. Now does anyone want to fund my dream of opening a Phish-themed grilled cheese shop in New York City’s East Village? If these guys can do it with pizza in Chicago, we can surely do something similar in NYC. I’ll take bids once this 25-minute YEM jam ends.
