Christian Rock guru reveals he’s actually an atheist in it for the money

One of Metalcore’s most prominent artists has reportedly followed in the footsteps of Faith Plus One‘s Eric Cartman, and the media is none too pleased.

All you South Park devotees out there recall back in the 7th Season when Eric Cartman formed the Christian Rock band ‘Faith Plus One’ in order to prove to Kyle that he can have a platinum-selling album before Kyle’s band Moop. Well, I don’t know if it is life-imitating-art or vice versa, but the world of Christian Rock is SHOCKED to learn that the lead singer of Metalcore band ‘As I Lay Dying’ is actually an atheist.

Yup, a man forged from the molten ashes in the hardest of hardcore fires ever set ablaze by the Christian Rock front-man forming bonfire (totally a thing that exists, right?) has thrown a chilly bucket of DARWINISTIC faith-spoiling water….

Gawker has pulled some choice excerpts from an interview he did with ChristianPost, of which we find out that this blasphemous non-believer who’s only in it for the money has apparently seen the light of science ever since he was in college:

The first time I cheated on my wife, my interpretation of morality was now convenient for me. I felt less guilty if I decided, “Well, marriage isn’t a real thing, because Christianity isn’t real. God isn’t real. Therefore, marriage is just a stupid piece of paper with the government.” I thought of myself as super-scholarly at the time. “My academic pursuit has led me to this.” I was sincere to a certain degree, but we all hear what we want to hear to justify our actions. I interpreted the evidence how I wanted and felt it was intellectually dishonest to consider myself a Christian… I was convinced there was no God and therefore there was nothing wrong with absurd things.

But do we really care about Tim Lambesis’ religious affiliatins and/or beliefs? HELLLLL NO. Really this was all just an excuse for me to post the best of Faith Plus One here…ENJOY:
