MAKING IT RAIN: A List Of The 20 Richest Hip-Hop Artists Of 2015 And Someone Topped Jay-Z

These days, people get into the rap game for one reason and one reason only: TO GET PAID.

There’s no other career in America where you can be a glorified, rhythmically-gifted poet and harness that talent to eventually acquire your own vodka company, clothing apparel line, or even stakes in professional sports teams. The hip-hop industry is as damn lucrative as they come, but for those with enough hustle, the reward is absolute beacoup bucks that pay the way to paving that yellow brick road down which street dreams do, in fact, come true.

Doing what they do best, the people over at Forbes just compiled of list of the highest paid artists in hip-hop for 2015, and believe it or not, someone actually pulled in more loot than the quintessential rags-to-riches wordsmith/business mogul hybrid, Jay-Z.

And that man was none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs, mostly in part to his ownership stake in Ciroc Vodka. But damn, everyone on this list is getting that paper in some way or another, that’s for sure.

1. Diddy: $60 million
2. Jay Z: $56 million
3. Drake: $39.5 million
4. Dr. Dre: $33 million
5. Pharrell: $32 million
6. Eminem: $31 million
7. Kanye West: $22 million
8. Wiz Khalifa: $21.5 million
9. Nicki Minaj: $21 million
10. Birdman: $18 million
11. Pitbull: $17 million
12. Lil Wayne: $15 million
13. Kendrick Lamar: $12 million
13. J. Cole: $11 million
14. Snoop Dogg: $10 million
16. Rick Ross: $9 million
17. Tech N9ne: $8.5 million
18. Ludacris: $8 million
19. T.I.: $6 million

Not too shabby, playas. Not too shabby at all.

Except for you, Pitbull. I still don’t understand how anyone pays you, bro.
