On Sunday, Summer Jam took place. The world’s biggest rap concert, Summer Jam 2015 featured rappers like Dej Loaf, Travi$ Scott, Fetty Wap, Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz, Chris Brown, Fabolous, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, and Meek Mill. Alongside the artists, Hot 97’s DJs like Funk Master Flex, Kast One, and Camillo contributed all the gangster rap anthems you could imagine. Fabolous even brought throwbacks. His performance included legendary NYC rappers like Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Method Man, Red Man, Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep, Lil Kim, The Lox with Jadakiss, and Ma$e. Performances like Fabolous’s allude to the evolution of rap. In terms of live music, the genre has made its transition to the underground.

Most festivals book EDM DJs now aside from popular acts such as Drake, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, and Chilidsh Gambino. Over the past year, songs like Migos’s O.T.
