Sandra Bullock is best known for her lengthy list of chick flicks, but growing up she always wanted to be an astronaut.* She plays one in Gravity, but unfortunately she’s not very good as astronauting. Just cut yourself loose, dammit! There’s no need to endanger national treasure, George Clooney.
The original actress for the role in Gravity was Angelina Jolie. Once Jolie left because they wouldn’t make it rain spacebucks on her, Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively, and Natalie Portman were in the running. I would have gladly taken any of them over Sandra Bullock, but this is what we get. At least the movie is visually stunning.
