Get ready for terror to go domestic. Zal Batmanglij’s new flick is making waves at Sundance, and this first trailer for The East is looking pretty promising. Ellen Page plays the voice of a terrorist group targeting major corporations around the United States, and Brit Marling is a corporate employee who goes undercover in the group to try to find out their plans before it happens. Batmanglij and Marling researched the film by going “off the grid” for the summer, hopping trains and eating out of dumpsters. I ate out of a dumpster for years, where’s my movie deal? Don’t tell me I left it in the dumpster.
