I’d like to know something about this movie but the trailers aren’t helping with that. The one movie that I’m most excited for this year is Shane Carruth’s Upstream Color. His last movie, Primer, was a time-travel mindfrack that you had to watch two or three times to even understand, and it’s looking like he’s continuing along the same lines with Upstream Color, which premieres next week at Sundance. Interestingly enough, Carruth is completely bypassing the standard distribution model for the movie, instead booking it at theaters himself and setting up his own digital way for you to get the movie at home. Will it work? Lord knows, but I’m seeing this movie as soon as I can.
