Take Ocean’s Eleven; subtract three people; set it in WW2 Italy, and you’ve got yourself The Monuments Men. George Clooney and Matt Damon team up again to save precious art from Hitler in this upcoming movie based on a true story. If those two best buddies aren’t enough for you, it also stars Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, and Bill Murray.
It’s a shame that Nazi killing expert Brad Pitt couldn’t come along for the ride to really make it feel like Ocean’s meets Inglourious Basterds. Instead, Bob Balaban gets to do that dirty work. He seems pretty pumped about it though.
The release date for The Monuments Men is December 18, 2013. That should give you enough time to get over how irritating the name is.
