Hackers discover ’50 Shades Of Grey’ casting?

Who will star in this borderline pornographic movie based on a book written by an idiot? America must know! The loosely-organized conclave of hackers known as Anonymous get their jollies breaking into all kinds of computer networks and exposing the dirty worms they find there – and I’m not going to say anything at all bad about them here because I fear for my life – but their latest exploit seems… a little silly.

USA Today has a report that Anonymous has penetrated the internal documents of Constantin Films, a German production company that made the Resident Evil movies, Downfall and The Never Ending Story. They weren’t looking for information on exactly what the hell Falkor was supposed to be. No, they were trying to solve the mystery of the modern age: who will play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in the forthcoming movie adaptation of 50 Shades Of Grey.

Dozens of actors and actresses have been floated for both roles, and the Christian Grey part is still up in the air (with recent speculation pointing to Lost‘s Ian Somerhalder), but according to Anonymous the ink is dry on the deal for Steele, and it’s Harry Potter star Emma Watson.

Since leaving the multi-gazillion dollar franchise that made her a star, Watson has been doing mostly smaller films like The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. She is also currently filming Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. Watson recently turned down the lead role in Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella film, so it would make sense that she’s holding out for something a little more lucrative. And moving away from the fairytale princess typecasting is probably pretty attractive to her.

Universal Pictures has denied the rumor, stating “No one has been cast yet,” but that’s basically what Hollywood does with rumors, right? I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
