‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ trailer is the Bible on HGH

Exodus: Gods and Kings is the movie version of the Bible on a ‘roid rage.

If you’ve ever read the Bible (let’s pretend you have) you’re well aware the book has some seriously epic stories worthy of cinematic interpretations.

Thus far, movie makers have decided to either concentrate on the moneymaker that is Jesus Christ, or broad stroke it all and do an religious epic spanning hundreds of years. It’s about time a film maker explored the insanity that is the Old Testament.

Of course, that film maker, is Ridley Scott. If any one man was going to take the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt and give it a Gladiator meets Kingdom of Heaven look, it’s Scott. And also, cast Batman as Moses.

Exodus: Gods and Kings stars Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, John Turturro, Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, and Ben Kingsley. Exodus: Gods and Kings is an interpretation of the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt as led by Moses and related in the Old Testament Book of Exodus.

From the official movie synopsis: From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure Exodus: Gods and Kings the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.

I’m not usually one for religious movies but Exodus: Gods and Kings feels a little more murder and battle speeches and a little less Sunday school and “stop touching yourself, Jesus is watching.”

Exodus: Gods and Kings hits theaters December 26, 2014.
