Drop Everything, Venkman. We Got One. Dan Aykroyd Confirms Role In New ‘Ghostbusters’ Flick

You guys, I don’t know about you, but this might just be the fucking biggest news of the day—besides the fact that the chick I’ve been courting on Tinder finally said yes to meeting up.

Even that, though, doesn’t compare with the excitement I have after hearing that one of the original Ghostbusters, Dan Aykroyd AKA Ray Stantz, has confirmed that he is taking part in the new reboot of the flick.

While there has always been speculation about which of the ‘busters would actually be returning for the new-aged comedy that’s directed by Paul Feig, Aykroyd hit the ol’ ‘Send’ button on Twitter just a little bit too fast, breaking the details about him filming scenes with Kristen Wiig—with the tweet deleted by the actor two hours later.

Although we have no damn idea who Aykroyd will play in the movie—which is due out on July 22, 2016—just hearing that he’s somehow involved is music to our ears, as he’s passing off busting duties to Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Wiig.

So, while we don’t anticipate a scene like we saw in the first Ghostbusters where Stantz can’t help but think about the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, there’s at least some hope that he’ll have an involved role.

Makes me wonder if Slimer has signed back on, yet?
