Couple paints home to look like the house in ‘Up’ — neighbors react accordingly

NBC Bay Area

Not everyone is a fan of Pixar flicks — especially if it’s in real life and in their own neighborhood.

Hosam Haggog and Fatima Rahman of Santa Clara, California, painted their Victorian house to look exactly like the home from the Pixar movie Up. Neighbors are pissed.

“I don’t think it fits in,” Lou Faria, a neighbor and a member of the Old Quad Residents Association told NBC Bay Area news. “It really, in my opinion, is atrocious that this Victorian is a gracious old lady and it’s being painted up to look like a clown.”

Lou sounds like the name of a guy in a neighborhood who’d be pissed at something like house color. Every neighborhood has that guy — when he isn’t standing on his front lawn, he’s staring out his window all day. He curses a lot and blames minorities for everything. He thinks Donald Sterling should be allowed to speak his mind. He also hits his wife. Those are the kind of people who join residents associations and care about paint.

“I like historical houses to be historical,” resident Chuck Petersen said. “On the other hand, it’s his home and I feel that sometime down the line it’s going to be repainted again anyway.”

Every neighborhood has a Chuck. He does his taxes on time. He’s pleasant. He minds his own business. He eventually moves because of Lou.

God damn Lou.
