I hope you’re not already afraid of the water. Showers are important. Killer whales – also known as orcas – are some of the most feared predators of the oceans. These massive mammals are living torpedoes of muscle, with powerful jaws and endless appetites. They eat everything, from fish to seals to other whales. Interestingly, though, they’ve never been known to attack humans in the wild, instead sharing the same sort of mammalian rapport that we do with dolphins. In captivity, though… things are different. Blackfish is a new documentary that opened to raves at Sundance about a Sea World orca named Tillikum who’s responsible for the deaths of three people. The flick’s been acquired by Magnolia Pictures but doesn’t have a release date yet.
