‘Anchorman 2′ trailer: Ron Burgundy’s Journey to the 80s

By / 06.19.13

Ron Burgundy and the Channel 4 News Team say, “Go f*ck yourself, San Diego,” in the new Anchorman 2 trailer. They’ve got bigger whale’s vagina to fry now that it’s the 80s. Local anchors no longer run the show, and Ron and the Channel 4 News are moving into the 24-hour news game.

Anchorman was never about the actual news though, and some of the plot devices in the sequel look pretty similar. Ron dates someone he probably shouldn’t, he has a rivalry with another anchor, and he performs the news in front of an animal. Each of those three get an upgrade though. Ron will be learning a lot more about old wooden ships, James Marsden is could crush Vince Vaughn’s Wes Mantooth, and a dolphin was swapped for that jerk panda.

Christina Applegate and Vince Vaughn are in the movie, so it will be interesting to see what happened to them. My guess is they die in a freak gasoline fight accident. You know how these movies like to borrow from each other. If the IMDB page is to be believed, we’ll also see Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Harrison Ford, Liam Neeson, Sacha Baron Cohen, and John C. Reilly at some point, making for one of the most star-studded casts of the year.
