As you have probably seen by now a new trailer for Batman V Superman was dropped last night. There really wasn’t a whole lot to be seen since it was less than a minute long, but that didn’t stop Twitter from losing its collective mind over the one thing that we will never, EVER understand about Batman.
That one thing? Why, in every single Batman movie, going all the way back to when Michael Keaton played Bruce Wayne, does his black eye makeup magically disappear whenever his mask is removed?
Okay, seriously, dude, where did the eye makeup go? It was there one second and then poof! Gone.
This egregious mistake, rightfully so in my mind, has got Twitter’s panties in a bunch and theories now abound…
@ElJackFinnie They always do that!!! At least it's not obvious. Remember Batman Returns? Suddenly, no eye make up cause he's taking it off.

Batman's black eye makeup disappears when Superman pulls his mask off. That's ruined the whole thing for me now, won't be seeing it

23 years since Batman Returns, and they're still trying to get away with having Batman's eye makeup suddenly vanish when the cowl comes off.

Most impressive about the new batman v superman tease is that superman has the power to remove eye makeup instantaneously.

Superman pulls Batman's mask so hard off Affleck's head that he removes all of his eye makeup. Now that's strength.

I need a Batman eye makeup tutorial asap.

Why do people insist Batman has no superpowers? It's clear he does.
When you pull his mask off his eye makeup magically disappears.

Why does Batman's black eye makeup vanish right after his cowl is removed? Didn't we learn anything from the 80's Batman?! #BatmanvSuperman

@bonniegrrl @CNET @DCComics Superman's powers include instantly taking off Batman's eye makeup.

Batman's black eye makeup comes off with the mask! Or is Superman just that fast with the wet-wipes? https://t.co/QGY8dUlCwZ

I love the way that #Batman's eye make up disappears so smoothly with his mask whenever it comes off. #MaybeHesBornWithIt #MaybeItsLuciusFox

Some say Batman isn't a superhero. I say only superpowers could add or remove his black eye makeup every time his cowl goes on or comes off.

@SuperheroFeed One simply doesn't ask where Batmans eye paint went when the mask is removed. The answer is always the same : He's Batman
