My Dad is a Bro. First came the BroBible.com Father's Day contest, then the Tumblr blog, and soon a book published by Simon & Schuster. When Hollywood came calling, Lionsgate got on board and MTV ordered a pilot. And now MY DAD IS A BRO has become... a one-off episode of True Life that's airing this Saturday at 3 p.m. EST.
O.K., so it's not a full series order like we were hoping, but we're still grateful and thrilled that Five All in the Fifth Entertainment's very first project (and pilot) will see the light of day — even if it's just for one glorious hour... on a Saturday at 2 p.m. EST.
On this very special episode of MTV's award-winning docu-series, you'll meet Barry and Dave, two of the funniest, most outrageous Bro-Dads our crack squad of casting agents could find. We guarantee this will be the most entertaining hour of television you'll watch all week ("Game of What-Now?"). Plus, MTV has promised us that if we beat the Walking Dead season premiere Live+3 rating of 20.2 million viewers, they'll consider ordering a full season. (Nielsen boxes activated, fingers crossed.)
So mark your calendars and set your DVRs for the premiere of TRUE LIFE PRESENTS: MY DAD IS A BRO on MTV this Saturday, October 26, at, you guessed it, 3 p.m. EST. We're pretty proud how it turned out.
