For Killer Mike and El-P, the rap duo and creative forces behind Run The Jewels, the nerves never really go away. Especially now that they’re performing to sold out arenas and not just small clubs.
“The first fifteen minutes is vital,” explained Killer Mike. “You can’t give them everything.”
Run The Jewels 3, the eagerly awaited follow-up to the commercially and critically successful Run The Jewels 2, is in the works. The next will blend together Killer Mike and El-P’s signature styles. It’s sort of like the blending of a fine drink. Different tastes and flavors combining for one unforgettable sound. Much like it takes many complex elements to go into making a distinctive drink like Jägermeister, it also takes diverse ideas to mix a killer album.
