America Has Spoken And They Want This ’30 Rock’ Star As The Next Host Of ‘The Daily Show’

America has sent a clear message of who they want as their next host of Comedy Central’s ‘The Daily Show’, and as with everything in life I stand side-by-side with my fellow Americans. I firmly believe that this former ‘SNL’ and ’30 Rock’ star would be perfect as the late night TV host.

In a new poll released by Quinnipiac University 19% of voters chose Tina Fey as the person they want to be the next host of ‘The Daily Show’. Not too far behind was Dennis Miller (16%), followed by John Oliver at 8%, and tied at 7% were Brian Williams and Craig Ferguson.

All I can say is ‘HOLY SHIT YES!’

Tina Fey would make the PERFECT host of ‘The Daily Show’, and she’s already reached a level of success that would enable her to bring in just about any guest in the world and talk to them mano a mano. From her time on ‘SNL’ and ’30 Rock’, to the newly launched Netflix original ‘The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ that she created, Tina Fey’s the ONLY choice (in my humble opinion) that would keep people watching ‘The Daily Show’ at the level of ratings Comedy Central is currently seeing.

We know from her stint on SNL’s ‘The Weekend Update’ that she’s waaaaayyyyyy more than capable in terms of writing, but furthermore she also understands what makes millennials laugh.

From the Quinnipiac University poll findings:

For 19 percent of voters, Tina Fey is the top choice to replace Jon Stewart, with 16 percent for Dennis Miller, 8 percent for John Oliver, 7 percent each for Brian Williams and Craig Ferguson and 5 percent for Chelsea Handler.

There are gender and age gaps. Fey tops Miller 23 – 12 percent among women, while men go to Miller 21 – 15 percent. Voters 18 to 34 years old go 27 percent for Fey, 12 percent for Oliver, 10 percent for Handler and 9 percent each for Ferguson and Miller. Older voters are divided between Fey and Miller.

“Two comedians, both former Saturday Night Live mock news readers, lead the pack to fill Jon Stewart’s chair,” Malloy said. “Dennis Miller is the favorite of 24 percent of Republicans. Tina Fey, with her dead-on take on Sarah Palin, is the darling of 26 percent of Democrats.”

Does any of this mean we’ll ever see Tina Fey as the host of ‘The Daily Show’? Probably not. But we can hope, right? Certainly we could get some sort of petition going, a hashtag, something?!

We could have this every night, and that’s something worth fighting for:
