‘The Music They Made’ Is a Great Audio Compilation Honoring the Musicians Who Died in 2012

From the New York Times, we've got a great ride into the music that we've come to love, made by those who've passed on this year. Highly enjoyable, in that "wow, the internet actually does produce a bit more than irreedemable, 'I just wasted my entire day' filth every once in awhile." sort of way.

We've got those who everyone heard about (MCA, Whitney Houston, Etta James, Davy Jones), but there's also a few that may be a bit more under the radar for some (i.e, Greg Ham of 'Men at Work,' and Micky Baker, whose apparently the guy that wrote the hook to Pitbull's auditorical wonder, 'Back in Time' way back in 1956.)

Two takeaways:

1. As Andy Moore astutely noted, "The Times is making viral videos now. wow."

2. Us editors are working from our respective "back homes" this week. My mom's listening to one of those "your best variety from the 80's, 90's, and today" sort of deals, and Avril Lavigne's "Complicated" is the current jam. Man is this sort of tribute gonna be something in 2050.
