Mr. T Launching New Home Improvement Show Named ‘I Pity The Tool’

The former A-Team member is a man with a catchphrase, and nearly 30 years after ‘The A-Team’ went off air Mr. T is set to appear in a new home improvement show on the DIY network titled ‘I Pity the Tool’. I’d like to be the first to say: it’s about damn time.

Here’s that famous catchphrase in action (in Rocky 3):

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop:

The former A-Team star has signed on to host a home renovation series called I Pity the Tool for DIY Network, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The show — which landed a straight-to-series order at the network — will see Mr. T and his famed Mohawk destroying outdated spaces to give families beautifully remodeled rooms. Each episode of the series will see Mr. T and his team — including HGTV Design Star winner and interior designer Tiffany Brooks break down walls and tear out old rooms to give a family a home makeover.

I Pity the Tool — which takes its name from Mr. T’s famed “I pity the fool” expression — joins a roster of celebrity-focused renovation series on DIY including The Vanilla Ice Project, Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall (Daryl Hall), The Shatner Project (William Shatner) and Rev Run’s Renovation (Run DMC’s Rev Run).

After that last paragraph now I am just wondering ‘why in the hell am I not watching more DIY network?’ William Shatner, Vanilla Ice, now Mr. T! That’s as all-star of a lineup as you’re ever going to find on ANY network.

As for what his qualification are when it comes to home restoration, well that remains to be seen.
