Miley Cyrus hosted SNL last night, and by all accounts it was a success, if only because she ably did what every successful guest does: Make fun of herself. Traditionally, the show's writers like to get the most obvious testy joke out of the way early—be it a guest who recently got a divorce, or caused some sort of controversy—and they didn't even wait for the monologue to address Miley's VMA's performance. This came during the cold opening.
It's pretty great, placing Kenan 30 years in the future to describe the moment America began it's post-apocalyptic slide downhill: Twerking to "We Can't Stop." Vanessa Breyer comes through with her killer Hannah Montana impression, and we even get Jay Pharoah as Denzel Washington. Enjoy:
