Mark Wahlberg And ‘Entourage’ Producers Making HBO Comedy About Radio Host

Mark Wahlberg and Entourage writers/executive producers Ally Musika and Stephen Levinson are reuniting to develop a new comedy for HBO. Instead of the behind-the-scenes glimpse of the glitz and glamor of Vincent Chase’s Hollywood life, the new show will be about a different entertainment medium, radio.

The show is based upon the real life of Sirius hip hop radio host Jude Angelini. The project is titled “Hyena, which is the same name of Angelini’s collection of autobiographical stories.

The details of the book is as follows:

Hyena is a collection of autobiographical stories by Jude Angelini, which takes the reader on his journey of heartbreak, depravity, and hilarity, deftly moving between his adult life and his childhood growing up in a factory town outside of Detroit. Each story is told with brutal honesty, yet maintains a gallows humor that will leave you shaking your head in disbelief.

This is actually the fourth project that Levinson and Wahlberg have done for HBO. Besides Entourage, the duo has produced the award-winning Boardwalk Empire and the upcoming show Ballers featuring Dawyne Johnson.

We’re still waiting for the Entourage movie which will be released later this year, but do you think this has possibility to be a substitute for Entourage?
