Macaulay Culkin Follows Up ‘Home Alone’ Success with Band That Only Sings About Pizza

Culkin's new band is called “The Pizza Underground.” Every song is a play off a Velvet Underground number, with the lyrics changed as an homage to slices. So the titles include: “I’m Waiting for the Delivery Man” instead of “I'm Waiting for the Man,” “All The Pizza Parties” for “All Tomorrow's Parties,” and “Pizza Gal” in place of “Femme Fatale.” Culkin kills a kazoo solo on “Take A Bite of the Wild Slice.” His bandmates include Matt Colbourn, Phoebe Kreutz, Deenah Vollmer, and Austin Kilham.

Anyway, covering the songs of a famous drug enthusiast like Lou Reed won't exactly kill the as-of-now unfounded rumors that Culkin has battled a smack addiction (neither will his new roommate, Pete Doherty). But whatever. He lived out a full career by the time he was 18. He should have the time to create bands called the “Pizza Underground.” They just played a gig in New York; we all await their next show with bated breath.
