So going to his show last October was a weirdly personal experience. The stranger I sat beside—in great seats I bought not because I was loaded, but because I was just quick to buy 'em—couldn't stop talking about how cool it was that “Louie” would do this for fans. It wasn't a world-famous comic we were seeing. It felt like you were seeing a friend. (Was that corny? That was corny.)
Which is a long way of saying that Louie's appearance on the new season of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, which takes place in a boat he recently bought, isn't a case of a celebrity showing off his latest statement purchase. Because goddamn right, Louie can buy a boat with the $50 I've now given to him, and him alone. Plus he got it stuck in the mud and was stranded for hours, and that of course makes for an amazing new bit.
Unfortunately I can't embed the 22-minute video here, but it's well worth the watch…
