Jason Sudeikis Went on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ to Talk About the Best Sketches Never to Air on ‘SNL’

Sue me. I kind of like what Seth Meyers is doing with his show. The interviews are more laid-back and he doesn’t push the celebrities to just share two pre-planned stories like Letterman and, formerly, Leno. One of the most interesting things to come out of late-night TV this year was when he sat Martha Stewart down beside Lil Jon—it reminded me of the brilliant (and kind of drunk) roundtables on the Graham Norton Show. Another comparison would be a podcast: podcasts are better than any other medium at mimicking actual conversations without feeling like performances, and Meyers’ conversations do that as well.

Last night, Meyers brought on fellow SNL alum Jason Sudeikis to basically just shoot the shit about inside-baseball SNL stuff. I’m not even sure if Sudeikis had anything to promote—but the two did discuss the funniest sketches that never made it to air, and if you’re a diehard fan who can never get enough info about what goes on in Studio 8H, it was an enjoyable chat.

And here the two talk about Sudeikis presenting at the Oscars:
