If you happen to smoke marijuana and live in New York or New Jersey, we have some very bad news for you: Earlier this week the New York Senate killed Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposal for decriminizing possession of up to 25 grams of weed. Over in New Jersey, things were just as bleak; though the New Jersey Assembly passed legislation to reduce penalties for marijuana possession in the Garden State, Gov. Chris Christie said he would veto it. His reasoning? "Because it's still illegal under federal law."
Last night, Jon Stewert weighed in on matter, pointing out Christie's extremely hypocritical view on decriminization. The Governor publicly favors the legalization of another recreational activity that happens to be illegeal under federal law: Sports betting. Stewert managed to destroy Christie on his hypocrisy, calling him out hard for basically having interchangable viewpoints on the legality of sports betting and marijuana possession. Pot, meet kettle. Or bong. Or bowl. Whatever. Just watch:
