Jenny McCarthy Makes Charlie Sheen’s HIV Announcement All About Her With Numerous Stupid Comments

Believe it or not there once was a point where former Playmate of the Year Jenny McCarthy was kind of cool. No, it’s true. You can look it up.

But then she decided that she had “opinions” on things and people in the media actually gave her forums to express them and well, it’s kind of gone downhill from there.

Never was that more evident than this week when she somehow tried to make Charlie Sheen’s HIV-announcement all about her for some reason.

It seems McCarthy was upset that when she appeared on Two and a Half Men as Sheen’s love interest no one told her he had HIV. Something she took issue with on her radio show

“I don’t even know how to feel about that. I’m like, ‘Wait a second. If I have to be upfront a herpe, how could you not be upfront about HIV? I look back and I’m like, ‘Okay, that would have been some valuable information.’ Look how many people have played his love interest on the show. I mean, not that you can obviously get it through kissing, but still that’s a big deal. Playing his love interest on the show, even back in the day, I go, ‘Ick! That’s not fair. It’s scary.’ I have sympathy for him because, you know, he’s sick and it’s awful, but man he’s going to have some major accountability with many people in his life.”

Ick?

Yeah, people didn’t like that response so to “fix” things McCarthy doubled-down and tried to explain herself on Twitter

“The point I raised about Charlie Sheen on my Sirius radio show, had nothing to do with whether or not I think he put me at risk. I simply took issue with a double standard in the industry. Every actress (and actor for that matter) must disclose hundreds of personal health matters before ever being allowed to set foot on a film set. Yet an actor who interacts physically with dozens of actresses in intimate scenes, is not required to disclose that he has HIV?

“I am very aware that HIV is not spread through kissing, but I also believe that if an actress has to disclose all of her business before kissing a male costar, that actor should be required to disclose something [as] major as an HIV infection too. His disclosures in his personal life are none of my business, and are for him to reconcile with the people he interacted with privately. I am not one of them.”

For what it’s worth, Sheen’s people pointed out that Sheen didn’t even have HIV when McCarthy appeared on his show so she never should have commented in the first place.

Not that any of that matters as many people have astutely pointed out on Twitter.

This one tweet sums up pretty much all of the comments in a nutshell…

“”

All that being said, I still wouldn’t mind it if Playboy took her up on her offer to be the final woman to pose nude for them. I’m not a complete hater of hers.
