Now that he's done holding Katie Holmes captive, it looks like Monsieur Cruise is ready to wow fans with his portrayal of Jack Reacher, a homicide investigator who delves further into a case involving a military sniper who shot five random victims. 

Cruise-bashing aside, this looks like a pretty solid "you know what you're getting but what you're getting is pretty dope" action movie. The trailer definitely features enough driving scenes that would end in serious collisions 99% of the time if they were ever conducted in real life--the litmus test for any flick of this nature. 

"Jack Reacher," based on one of the books in a crime series by author Lee Childs, will be released December 21st.
