BREAKING: HBO Exec Confirms ‘Game Of Thrones’ Will Run For Longer Than Season 7

Which is great news to all the Game Of Thrones fans out there knowing they can successfully add a few more seasons of television binge watching on Sunday nights to the calendar.

The announcement about HBO’s famed series came courtesy of its president Thursday night at the Television Critics Association’s press tour.

Entertainment Weekly got the scoop:

“Seven-seasons-and-out has never been the conversation,” Michael Lombardo said to critics at the Television Critics Association’s press tour Thursday. “The question is how much beyond seven are we going to do. [Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are] feeling like there’s two more years after six. I would always love for them to change their minds. That’s what we’re looking at right now.”

And what about a prequel?

“I would aloud be open to anything Dan and David want to do. It really would depend fully on what they want to do. I think you’re right, there’s enormous storytelling to be mined in a prequel. We haven’t had any conversations.”

Hell. Yes. Let’s see this thing leg out at least ten. I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anybody complaining about that. Keep the winter coming!!!
