On Monday night’s Jeopardy!, contestant Choyon Manjrekar attempted to make an educated guess on an answer that stumped him. The Final Jeopardy! answer was, “A Christian hymn and Jewish holiday hymn are both titled this, also the name of a 2009 Tony-nominated musical.”
Choyon took a stab at it.
Unfortunately for Choyon, Kinky Boots did not premiere until 2012. Not to mention that it is highly inconceivable that a Christian hymn and Jewish holiday hymn would be titled “Kinky Boots.”
To his credit, Kinky Boots did receive a season-high 13 Tony Award nominations back in 2013 and even won the esteemed Tony Award for Best Musical. None of the contestants got the correct question of “Rock of Ages,” and Choyon would go on to win despite his rather peculiar response.
