Like Greased Fleshlightning: A Conversation with Jenna Haze, Part I

This morning we showed you the extended trailer for "Fleshlightning," a movie/viral ad (or something along those lines?) that leaded us to believe that Jenna Haze's fleshlight possesses magical powers. The verdict is still out on what kind of wizardly it might retain. On Friday we spoke to Jenna about the trailer and her decade of experience in the adult entertainment industry. What follows is the first part of our conversation, which includes Jenna discussing how custom-fleshlights are molded, what she thinks about Sasha Grey leaving "the biz," and whether or not she'll get a "mainstream" acting gig beyond skin flicks. Yes, somehow we managed to keep everything SFW. Check back tomorrow for part two of our conversation...

BroBible: Let’s talk about “Fleshlightning,” this viral video that’s making the rounds...

Jenna Haze: I’ve been a Fleshlight girl for awhile now. Im actually one of the first girls that ever signed with them to have my body parts molded. I’m also one of the first girls who ever had all three of my body parts molded. A friend of mine called me, and she was like, ‘Hey, my boyfriend’s friend is in mainstream and he wants to do this project. They kinda wrote it around to you and they had kinda you in mind for it.’

I was like ‘Alright, I’ll call them and see what it is.’ I'm literally laying on the beach in Hawaii when I talked to him on the phone and he explained the whole thing to me and at first I was like what is this you know? And as he got more into the story line and told me about how it would be it got really funny and I was like, ‘Alright, this might be something I’m interested in.’

I didn’t realize until we were shooting it how big of a production it was actually gonna be, you know? I get there to set and there’s this like boom operator and crazy cameras on these slidey-things to get the moving shots and everything like that. I don’t know what those things are called. But you know, it was a much grander scale than I expected it to be. And we showed up, and I shot it, and it was so much fun to shoot. We kept laughing about everything, and it took us a few days. When I watched it I was way, way, way blown away by it. I was actually way more thrilled with it than I thought I was going to be.

BroBible: You mentioned earlier you were one of the first girls for Fleshlight... How’d you get involved with them?

Jenna: It’s kinda interesting. Fleshlight chased me around for awhile trying to get me to sign with them as one of their girls and I was like kinda wary because I wasn’t really aware of the product. This was right before they really got huge. And it, you know, I was kinda like, ‘I don’t know if I should do this… ‘Then they offered me a shitload of money basically, I’m not gonna lie.

It’s really a good product and people use it a lot, so I signed with them and they took me to location where they literally mold your body parts.

BroBible: What’s the process like to get your private parts molded into a sex toy?

Jenna Haze: I had to be totally nekked and they have this guy who comes in with this molding mud stuff. They mold all of your body and you have to sit and wait for it to harden. Then they pull it apart and you see a little part of your body. I actually not only had my vag*na done, I had my ass done and I also had my mouth done for toys. The mouth is definitely the hardest because you cannot talk or like really breathe or do much, so it’s a little difficult. It’s really crazy when they mold you and then you like actually see the product made and it’s… it’s yours. There’s no doubt about it. Like, I could pick out my vag*na in a line-up super easy.

BroBible: What’s fan reaction been like?

Jenna Haze: It’s amazing. I can’t even tell you how many I’ve sold. I mean, the company as a whole has sold millions of sex toys. So, um, it’s… it’s pretty cool. Fans love it. They love the chance to get to do something like that and to have a little piece of you. It’s great. I mean guys can mold their pen*ses for their girlfriends nowadays. And you can have your favorite adult entertainmentstar’s p*ssy.

BroBible: Is there anything non-adult entertainment that you’re working on now? You were in "Superbad," right?

Jenna Haze: Yes. I had a cameo in superbad. I was on the computer screen. I was one of the “Vagtastic girls.”

Brobible: What was that like?

Jenna Haze: It was interesting! “Superbad” was the first mainstream thing I’d really done. I also did a cameo a couple years later in “Crank 2: High Voltage,” where I jump on Jason Statum’s car and stuff. For “Superbad,” they contacted me out of the blue and I got a call from Sony Pictures. I’m like ‘uh, hello, what?’ And they’re like, ‘You know we want you to do this whole part.’ I thought they were bullshitting at first, you know?

I was a little behind the times I’d never even seen any of Judd Apatow’s, movies. I never watched “Knocked Up” and I was totally out of the loop. I had no idea who these people were or anything like that. And I showed up to set and we shot this little thing on the Sony Pictures studio set. We did this little spoof of “Bang Brothers” but it was called “Vagtastic Voyage” or whatever. I made a bunch of money for it and I didn’t think it was a big deal.

I didn’t think much of it and then they called me and they were like, ‘Do you want to go to the Premier?” So I went to the premier with them and I sat with the directors and everything and the cast and everything. it was really cool cause I had such a small part in it. Went to the after party and brushed elbows with all the cast and stuff like that, it was a really cool experience. It was probably the first time that I’ve ever gone out in the mainstream world, you know?

BroBible: We’re getting around to the last season of "Entourage." Last year Sasha Grey made a pretty big mainstream statement as Vince’s girlfriend. How is crossover success like that perceived in the industry?

Jenna Haze: I think it’s amazing. I think that it’s great for our industry that adult entertainment is becoming more acceptable and that adult entertainment actresses and adult actresses are being more accepted into the mainstream world. I would’ve liked to see, you know, I think it’s amazing that she got the lead character on “The Girlfriend Experience” and that she was on “Entourage” and stuff.

I would like to see her or another adult film star be cast as something that’s not adult related. Everything I’ve done, I’ve played a Vagtastic girl, and then I played a adult entertainment star on strike, so you know, I’ve played adult-themed things twice. So has Sasha. She played an escort and then she played like a fictionalized version of herself. So I really think that the boundaries will start dropping when you know, when an adult star gets out there and starts doing roles that aren’t adult related, you know?
