It's been talked about for months now, and here, at last, it is: The trailer for the big-budget movie adaptation of "The Lone Ranger." Starring Armie Hammer as the title character and Johnny Depp as his Native American sidekick Tonto, the "Lone Ranger" looks pretty sweet from this brief glimpse below. It's got all the gunshots we expect from a Jerry Bruckheimer picture, you get the requisite chills when the hero finally hits the screen, and Helena Bonham Carter seems to be bringing that trademark crazy hotness that'll give you all the weirdest boners.
Of course, people will have more than a few doubts about whether there's any real demand for an adaptation of a show that came on before the vast majority of the country was born. And the idea of Depp playing a Native American, while trying to pull that stupid "Red Man" stereotypical accent, is enough to make anyone go "Ehhh." We shall see how it sounds over the course of two hours.
"The Lone Ranger" is scheduled to come out July 3, 2013.
