Get Your First Look At ‘Supergirl’, Starting This Fall On CBS

Considering that, by my guesstimate, about half of the television shows on the air by the end of 2016 with be based on some superhero or comic book CBS doesn’t want to get left in the dust. So their first entry into this genre will be Supergirl starring Melissa Benoist as the heroine (aka Kara Zor-El, cousin of Superman).

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Supergirl on the small screen. Laura Vandervoort did an excellent job playing Kara Zor-El on Smallville though this show will be much different in that rather than Clark Kent as the main character this one’s all Supergirl.

The show will also star Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen (what, no Jimmy?), and Dean Cain as Fred Danvers (yes, Superman himself).

Supergirl is scheduled to begin airing in November on Monday nights opposite Gotham on Fox. Not surprising that’s happening though. It was pretty much unavoidable that it would be going up against another comic book-based show, what with Arrow, Flash, Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Gotham, Daredevil, the Flash spinoff, an Agents of SHIELD spinoff, etc. etc. etc… all taking up space on our TV sets.
