The First Full-Length Trailer For ‘Black Mass’ Starring Johnny Depp As Boston Crime Lord Whitey Bulger Is Here, Looks Incredible

Back in April, I brought you bros the first official trailer for Black Massthe story of notorious Boston gangster Whitey Bulger, as played by Johnny Depp.

Today, the first full-length official trailer has been released, and it looks even more intense, more corrupt, more badass, and more Johnny Depp looking like an absolute psychopath.

For more context on this fascinating story, here’s an excerpt from my initial post:

Whitey Bulger is undoubtedly the most infamous violent criminal in South Boston history. When Police finally hunted him down in Santa Monica, California in June 2011, he was indicted for 19 murders, including charges of racketeering, extortion, and narcotics distribution.

Black Mass details the true story of Whitey (played by Johnny Depp) and his tumultuous relationship with the FBI after agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) recruited him in the 1970s to take down a common enemy: the Italia mafia. The alliance spiraled out of control, allowing Whitey to consolidate power and rule with an iron fist, while the FBI smeared its name when the New England media exposed criminal actions by federal, state, and local law enforcement officials tied to Bulger.

Black Mass hits theaters September 18th.
