Hot inter-office debate of the moment: Does Denzel Washington play practically the same character in every movie? After this supercut and the one we posted yesterday, Andy and I began debating that question this morning and we agree that while he is definitely entertaining and talented, he's the same character in every movie only his set of circumstances are different. Has he ever dropped his normal schtick and assumed that of something or someone foreign? I don't think he has. Also, he smiles and laughs at bizarre times. Like, when it makes no sense to the plot. Of course, we're not accusing him of being a Freddie Prince Jr. or anything, but we'd like to see him branch out every once and again.
And why the fuck do his characters make so many guarantees? If Men's Warehouse is looking for a new face of the company, I think we've just found it.
