BroBible is proud to announce that our production company, Five All in the Fifth Entertainment, has teamed up with State Street Pictures to develop and finance a screenplay based on the June 2011 Deadspin.com article, "The Canucks Fan Who Drove 1,000 Miles for a Game, Partied with the Owner, Drank with Beautiful Women, Nearly Died, and Got Comped for Game 5."
As Variety reports, screenwriters Peter Hoare and Chris Lilli will pen the script, which "centers around the true story of four best friends from Vancouver who travel to San Jose to watch their beloved team, the Vancouver Canucks, play in the NHL's Western Conference Finals. What ensues during that 24-hour period becomes fodder for one of the greatest bar stories ever told."
Doug Banker, founder of BroBible and Five All in the Fifth Entertainment, and producer for this project, says the feature is a natural fit for the new production company. "We're big hockey fans at BroBible/Five All, and the original Deadspin article definitely made the rounds among the team last year. We're excited to be able to partner with State Street to bring this epic story to the big screen."
Hoare and Lilli's raunchy comedy, "Everybody Wants Head," is scheduled to shoot this fall. George Tillman, Bob Teitel, and Mike Flavin will produce for State Street Pictures (the "Barbershop" franchise).
BroBible, which is repped by CAA and Underground, develops television, film, and digital projects under its Five All in the Fifth Entertainment banner. Other projects include the non-scripted television adaptation of BroBible's book, "My Dad is a Bro," for which Lionsgate and Five All are currently casting.
