Bill Clinton—whose current popularity is arguably insane when you think about how his presidency ended—gave a funny interview with a fully in character Stephen Colbert last night at a symposium for the Clinton Global Initiative. Colbert laid into the former president for over-using his "famous charisma" during their talk (which is kind of like making fun of a guy for rocking too large junk), but the talk show host did, overall, let him speak his mind—which is more than you can say for a lot of the Colbert Report's interviews which quickly (and hilariously) derail.
The undisputed highlight of the interview came at its end, when Colbert convinced Clinton to start up his own Twitter account. The two created, on the spot, @PrezBillyJeff, a real handle that was responsible for this Tweet last night:
Just spent amazing time with Colbert! Is he sane? He is cool! #cgiu— Billy Jeff Clinton (@PrezBillyJeff) April 6, 2013
I really, really hope Slick Willy keeps it up. Can you imagine how great it'd be? "Snuck out from a boring Hillary speech to smoke a cigar on the balcony. Boy don't these bring back the memories!"
