Us ’90s kids are LOVING the resurgence of interest in “Hey Arnold!” as of late. Like last week, when an entire generation of girls age 25 – 32 became thirsty AF for the bearded dude who was football-head himself in Hey Arnold’s first season.
The inner-city Nickelodeon classic was easily the most 420-friendly cartoon show well before your childhood brain could wrap your head around the concept of a dime bag. That was why it was great — It was cool when you were blissfully unaware of how uncool you were as a kid, happily watching new episodes while sippin’ Capri Suns and throwing back Dunkaroos after school. I’ll never forget the first time my parents watched a Hey Arnold episode with me — there was a lot of debate at how ridiculous the animation was, especially dear ole grandpa’s head. After all….
Anyway, YouTuber @berleezy uploaded a clip from his fantastic rant about Hey Arnold to Twitter a few days ago. It’s a goddamn national treasure. And it’s a master-class of how much fun it is to look at one of a generation’s greatest cartoons through adult eyes.
