Though the Will Ferrell comedy Anchorman is a decade old, it is still as beloved as it was in 2004. To prove the point here’s famous Australian newscasters paying homage to the cult classic comedy by reenacting the infamous Anchorman fight scene. The video done by SBS2 Australia, pits news anchors against each other in a fight to the death “Broadcast Battleground.”
The warring newsreaders utilize everything from axes, pitchforks, torches and neckties in an attempt to destroy their competition and reign supreme in the ratings war. In the six minute video, the actual fight doesn’t begin until the 4:30 mark, but it is filled with Anchorman-esque quotes that will take you to Pleasure Town.
“OK before we start, let’s go over the ground-rules… No touching of the hair or face… And THAT’S IT. Now FIGHT!”
