Terrific news that should please anyone who remembers "Franklin Comes Alive," master of disguise Gene Parmesan, and Mrs. Featherbottom: "Arrested Development" is back. Production begins today, with all principal cast members expected to return and film the new season for Netflix.
Via Deadline:
The new installment of Arrested Development for Netflix will begin production [Tuesday]. I’ve learned that the entire cast of Mitch Hurwitz’s cult Fox series — Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat and Tony Hale — are all in final negotiations and expected to return.... Howard also is reprising his role as the series’ narrator.
The new season is going to take on a different format than it did for the show's first three years, with the 10 episodes each revolving around a single character. While other characters are expected to provide support, each episode will unmistakably be about only one Bluth. I won't lie and say it doesn't make me a little skeptical, but these guys have shown they know what they're doing before. It's in good hands.
The episodes are expected to air in 2013.
