Anonymous Is Threatening YouTube Star Sam Pepper Over A ‘Prank’ Video Where He Pretends To Murder His Best Friend

Are you familiar with the controversial YouTuber Sam Peppers? He has over 2 million subscribers on YouTube and a million followers on Twitter — Quite an impressive following. He’s famous for the usual smattering of things teenagers like on YouTube — Prank videos about a “cheating boyfriend being exposed!“, weird parkour videos, and stunts where he shows how to get a girl’s number for the socially clueless. His latest video, however, is the one that the Internet can’t stop talking about, mostly because it’s so deranged, twisted, and evil that it’s rather disturbing. It’s called “KILLING BEST FRIEND PRANK.” It has over 2 million views.

Not even kidding:

You can go watch it over at YouTube. It’s too dumb for us to embed here (which, I’m not going to lie, is saying a lot). If you know anything about video production, you realize how incredibly fake and staged it is. Sweet backlighting, bro! Amazing sound! It might as well be a mass-marketed Hollywood horror movie. Eli Roth makes way scarier videos. Hell, the premise behind the Blair Witch Project was more believable than Sam’s friend Colby.

Regardless, the fact that this twerpy Internet-famous Smurf-wannabe had the gumption to make such a video kicked the proverbial Internet beehive. Let the outrage ensue. Via:

And now it’s allegedly attracted the attention of Anonymous, the hacking collective that is vowing to take down ISIS following the Paris attacks. They issued a threat to unleash “hell” upon Sam Pepper if he doesn’t take the video down.

But here’s the thing — Why the hell would Anonymous give a shit about Youtube prankster with hair that looks like sour Warhead candies?

Another huge Anonymous twitter account, @YourAnonNews, is calling them out:

Which has turned into an Internet slappy fight in the middle school cafeteria over who gets the last slice of pizza:

Meanwhile, it’s important to note that NEITHER of these accounts are the ones that first talked about going after ISIS following the Paris attacks. Those accounts would be @GroupAnon.

It’s pretty unlikely for Anonymous to care about censorship of fiction when, as I said above, Pepper’s video is basically just a five minute short horror story.

Let’s see how this plays out. We’ll get the popcorn. Hopefully the pseudo-Anonymous melodrama is more entertaining that the lameness of the video itself.
