The coveted role of Anastasia Steele has gone to Dakota Johnson in the Universal Pictures and Focus Features adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey.
Johnson, who is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, will star as the young college graduate who has a sexual awakening with Christian Grey [played by Sons Of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam].
The movie will be released August 1, 2014 with a hard-R rating—more or less guaranteeing a record August for Mr. Skin. Dakota Johnson is no late-stage Hermoine, but the blonde did play that very pretty Stanford co-ed in The Social Network (“I founded Napster!”), meaning: you can begin mentally preparing for the inevitable “Okay, I guess I'll go” conversation you'll have with your girlfriend next August. This movie is going to make a billion dollars.
